bio

Lennard Fiehn (*1997) is saxophonist, clarinetist and composer, based in Basel (CH).

His music is influenced by traditional northamerican music from the 60’s and 70’s, especially by the music of Joe Henderson.

Exploring the terminology of musical expressions leads him into the genre of modern jazz.

He dedicates the project “no shadow without light" (N.S.W.L.) to his research.

Furthermore he is the founder of the electro-acoustic band “Thrrr”.

Except his work as a bandleader he is part of numerous formations as “still video game”, “FORK”, “Gapp/Fiehn/Obleser/Kaltenbach” etc and plays regularly as a sideman, in duo or solo concerts.

Grown up in the southern german black forest he finishes his minor studies with Prof. Christian Weidner at Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in 2020.

Two years later he graduates from the Jazz Campus Basel where he had the chance to study with Prof. Domenic Landolf, Prof. Mark Turner, Prof. Ambrose Akinmusire and Prof. Guillermo Klein.

Through his friends and teachers he had the chance to play with Mark Turner, Domenic Landolf, Jorge Rossy, Bert Joris, Niels Klein, Ed Partyka, Rainer Tempel, Ronny Graupe, Elias Stemeseder and Katrin Pechlof.

Concerts led him to Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Norway and India.
